After founding and building a successful basketball academy in the Sea To Sky Coach Yoni is offering his unique style of training and life coaching to the basketball community across BC.

Yoni grew up on a small Island with a deep passion for basketball but no guidance on how to make it past the high school level. After taking some years off from the game at age 26 he decided to pick the ball back up and work on his game with the goal of making a college basketball team and eventually becoming a full time basketball trainer.

This turned into a non stop commitment to improving his game. He went from being a player coaches barely noticed at college tryouts to a walk on at Capilano University and even walked on to a professional roster with the Vancouver Knights and semi pro roster at Vancouver Dragons playing games in the NAPB and ABA.

At 5'9", age 26 and coming from a small island not known for basketball this took a strict discipline and commitment to working on his game. The past 10 years he's been training players and using the same training methods that worked for him and the now thousands of players he's worked with through the years.
In October of 2020 he founded the Hoop Reel Squamish and Whistler branches and started building the game from the ground up in communities that had little to no experience. After 4 years of building Hoop Reel into a competitive club program he's changed course to live closer to his daughter in North Vancouver.
He will offer training on the North Shore as well as run camps in the Sea To Sky, Salt Spring Island and around BC. The camps will focus on more than just elite basketball training. There will always be a goal setting and life coaching segment to each camp.
He's excited to share everything he's learned with the next generation!
